Pamela Rohland

“I am a student of Art and a student of Science; an Artist, who has also been an Audiologist, and an Administrator, a parent and a partner.

Beginning with my French Cajun mother and German Irish father, my life has been a journey of disparate and vital experiences, always gravitating to the artistic with science as the financial backing.

I have practiced Audiology in a medical setting, and taught it at a University.

I taught at a college for Deaf students, where I gained understanding of a culture other than my own, and learned to be fluent in American Sign Language.

I earned a degree in Fine Arts where I struggled to connect science, art, light and culture as I created images on canvas or paper, in ceramics or photography.

As an administrator in a college and in a university, I focused on creating teams of staff, faculty and students, working toward equality of opportunity in their mutual academic successes.

…All the while, trying to be a good partner, a reflective parent, an active community member and an artist.

I am driven to create still life as peaceful resistance to the chaos in our world. So I continue.”
