2024 Studio Trail Application

HOPARTS STUDIO TRAIL PROSPECTUS 2024

Please carefully read the following requirements for participation prior to completing your application:

Trail Dates: October 19 and 20, 2024

Fee: $100 total ($35 Artist Membership and $65 Studio Trail Fee)

Application: Applications will be available on our website hoparts.org on April 1, 2024. Your application must be fully completed, including fees and photos, and submitted by June 15, 2024. There will be no exceptions, this is a firm deadline. Please be advised that we will no longer accept past applications for the current studio trail; we must have your most up-to-date data to ensure contact information provided on our website and brochures is live and accurate. 

Participation: Acceptance notices will be sent by July 21, 2024.

Entry Requirements and General Information

  • Please submit your fully completed application promptly as there are a limited number of artists that can be accommodated on the Trail. Questions regarding the application should be sent to info@hoparts.org. Online submission of your application and payment is preferred.  Payments and paper applications should be mailed to HopArts, POB 934, Hope Valley, RI 02832.
  • The application is a contractual agreement between HopArts and the Artist to participate in HopArts related activities. In signing/submitting the application the artist is giving HopArts permission to reproduce their artwork to promote the Trail. The HopArts Board of Directors reserves the right to select exhibitors based on type and quality of work and proximity to Hopkinton and Richmond and has the right to jury out any work that doesn’t meet the following requirements.
  • Artists should present artworks that are created by the participating artist and demonstrate artistic originality, mastery in the medium, creativity and craftsmanship in its making. We require the submission of new high-quality images each year for the purposes of accurate representation and artist placement and, new this year, request at least one image with a white or gradient background for marketing purposes. Please let us know if you need assistance with photographing your artworks.  Artists may not sell a category of work for which images have not been submitted.
  • Artists are also required to maintain liability insurance as HopArts accepts no liability for risks associated with their participation with the Trail. 
  • Participating artists must have a retail permit to make sales. More information on how to apply can be found here: https://risca.online/buy-art-tax-free/
  • Visiting artists are encouraged to also apply, HopArts offers limited space for artists that reside in surrounding towns (non Hopkinton/Richmond residents). These artists will be provided with a local venue (example: library or shared studio). If you know a HopArts member who has offered to host you, please indicate on your application if you have a sponsoring artist or if you require placement in a host location. 
  • All artist applications and studio locations are subjected to review. Considerations such as, but not limited to; public safety, town ordinance violations, and parking will determine location approval. HopArts will provide alternative locations for studios that do not meet the eligibility criteria. Determinations are non negotiable for the safety of visitors and the well-being of the HopArts organization. 

Brochure Distribution
Brochures, posters and postcards will be available for pick up and distribution mid to late September, additional quantities are available upon request. Each artist is requested to help promote the Trail by distributing materials throughout their home and work communities and on social media, Instagram and Facebook.
