Hans Viets is an American artist and musician with art studios in Brooklyn, New York and Rockville, Rhode Island. He studied Fine Art at the University of Wisconsin in Madison and Mechanical Engineering at the Fachhochschule Luebeck and MSOE University.

Hans Viets primarily creates paintings using acrylic and sometimes oil paint on canvas or wooden panels. These artworks emerge intuitively by applying many layers over time. The imagery: whether realistic or abstract, reflects an openness and eagerness to experiment, discover and learn while painting. Their goal is to balance playful openness with direct, clear visual information in order to navigate subconscious ideas with paint.
