Osso gets grant

HopArts artist Caitlin Osso, photographer, has received a grant through a collaborative project, called Assets for Artists (A4A) sponsored by MASS MoCA, ArtHome and the Midas Collaborative. The goal of this project is to empower artist-entrepreneurs to achieve the financial stability needed to support their creative work.

The program provides the following:

  • A “matched savings” program providing working capital to be invested in the artist’s Rhode Island-based creative business and provides a matching grant based on certain goals.
  • Free artist-customized training in financial management and business planning.
  • Support in writing a business plan to guide the targeted investment of the matched savings funds.

Caitlin says; “I have already started my courses, beginning last week with an intense, inspiring, and very informative full-day Financial Boot-camp, with the AMAZING Ester Robinson. We talked about the difference between most people- budgets, and those of artists and went over many great ideas on how to sustain a wonderful life while doing what we love for a living. I am very excited to continue my education with Mass MoCA, and to make my goal of a sustainable art business a reality. I am so honored to have been chosen to be a part of this wonderful program.”
